I hope everybody's holidays (Christmas, Xmas, Channukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, and/or Snowflake Day)have been good.
The images for my last template were deleted. I've got a new one until I get back to school and I can host images on my school server space. This one is a little weird. But I like it.
Got back last night around midnight from a trip. We drove to Las Vegas, flew out to New England, flew back, visited the Grand Canyon, and then came home.
We didn't stay in Vegas. I got my fill just at the airport. I'm not the casino type. In fact, I find them a bit disturbing.
We saw just about every member of my extended family, plus I got to see my brother and my sister-in-law. My half-sister's expecting in two weeks, both my grandmothers are wheelchair-bound in nursing homes, and the rest of my family seems to be doing well.
I've lost a little weight, even though I didn't quite maintain strict no-carb eating on the trip. Though I didn't do too badly. I'm going to do the strict part over again in the first two weeks of January.
It feels really good to have a pretty consistent glucose level. I think a lot of my mood swings and periods of low and high energy had to do with it. Now I'm pretty on the level.
So yeah. That's it. Nothing else to report... I could write something eloquent about seeing my paternal grandmother ("Mimi", we call her), who is failing and can no longer speak in coherent phrases. Or seeing how lonely Grandpa (Mom's dad) is with Grandma away at a nursing home. It hit me a couple of times that this could have been the last time that I see them.
Or I could write something funny about my other family members, all of whom have their quirks and oddities.
But I'm too tired for that. I'm going to bed instead.
